Chief Investment Products Officer

Mercedes Garcia-Ayuso is the Chief Investment Products Officer at Insigneo and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She brings nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, with extensive expertise in private wealth management, investment counseling, capital markets, and investment solutions across Latin America.

Prior to joining Insigneo, Mercedes spent 18 years at Citi, most recently leading the Investment Counseling team for Latin America, excluding Mexico and Brazil. In this role, she advised ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and multi-family offices, while leading a team responsible for investment portfolios across capital markets and managed investment solutions. She also held broad strategic, management, P&L, and regulatory responsibilities.

Before joining Citi in 2008, Mercedes was a Client Portfolio Manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York, where she was part of the Active Equity U.S. Blend Team and worked extensively with Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management organization. Earlier in her career, she served as a Senior Sell-Side Equity Analyst covering the U.S. Machinery sector and began her career in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in London. Mercedes holds degrees in Law and Business Administration from ICADE in Spain and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She also holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 86, and 87 licenses.
